Tree Tots – Halloween Celebration

Monday 25th October from 10.30-12.30 at Arlington Court, Barnstaple.

Booking essential – info@mother-moon.co.uk .. come along with all the family for some outdoor Halloween themed fun! We will be doing autumn crafts, a witchy trail and children are welcome to be in fancy dress too. Delivered by Jess from Mother Moon in partnership with Arlington Court.


£7 per child, sibling discount available. Suitable for 0-9 years. If you have children over 9, please get in touch as I can tailor make sessions for older children on another date

Stargazing, Bat Detecting & Pizza Night

Friday, 29th October from 18.00-20.30

Part of the Dark Skies Festival with Exmoor National Park
Location: Barton Farm, Kentisbury, EX31 4QP
Discover the planets and stars with our telescopes, learn how to detect the bats of kentisbury and craft your own stonebaked pizza at Barton Farm. Join Liz from Moor Wild Experiences and The Wright’s family to search the night sky with two telescopes and stargazing apps.
At dusk, we will stroll 400m around the church and farm yard learning how to identify the active bats near the pond and trees. Return and prepare and enjoy your own crafted stonebaked pizza with a glass of bubbly! At dark, search for saturn and Jupiter in our September sky. Marshmallows to toast and hot chocolate to sip around our warming firepit. £40pp (one price) Wet weather: we have a plan undercover in our beautiful 16th Century barn!

Howl-O-Ween Parade

October 31st 2021, 13.00pm – 15.00pm

The Lyn Valley Dog House is excited to invite you and your pooch to it’s first Howl – O – Ween Parade.

Join us at 1.00 pm to register for our fancy dress competition for dogs. The entrance fee is £2 and will be donated to The Dogs Trust. Dogs are also invited to take part in an autumnal photo shot. You will be able to take photos of your dog with a fantastic background.

At 2.00 pm, we will announce the winner of the fancy dress competition. The winner will win a box of treats and will lead the parade up Queen Street, Lynton.
At 2.15 pm, the parade will stop at The Queens, where the landlady Karen will chose the best rescue dog, who will also receive a box of treats. At 2.30 pm we will continue the parade up to Dan and Laura at A Little of What You Fancy for apple or carrot bobbing. Finally, at 2.45 pm, the parade will end with Claire and Lauren at Willow. Gifts will be given to all entrants from The Lyn Valley Dog House and small people will also receive a gift!

The BIG Sheep Halloween Spectacular

Celebrate Halloween this year with their Spook-tacular family theme fun from 10am – 5pm daily from the 23rd October – 31st October 2021.

Join in on the main park attractions as well as a few added extras – The Monster Glow party, If you’ve got it Flaunt it fancy dress competition, Pumpkin Carving, Spooky Train and Tractor Rides throughout the day, there is so much to get involved with this October!

Appledore Pirates – Bonfire & Firework Display

Celebrating 50 years of the Appledore Pirates, this event will run on Friday 29th October from 7pm!

Come and celebrate at Irsha St, between the Beaver Inn and the Royal George, Appledore.

As always this is a free event, but make sure to bring some cash with you as there will be stalls with food, drinks and snacks for sale and we will have collection tins out on the night if you would like to donate to next years display

Barnstaple & District Round Table – Firework Display

Barnstaple & District Round Table are pleased to announce the annual fireworks will be back on Sunday, November 7th at Barnstaple Rugby Football Club.

The gates open at 5.30pm with the event starting at 7pm and we’ll be there!!!! We cannot wait.
This year the event will be supporting two local charities, ChemoHero and the North Devon Hospice.

Real Ice Rink comes to Barnstaple’s Christmas Village

North Devon’s Christmas Village runs from Friday, November 19, until Sunday, January 2.

North Devon’s Christmas Village will not only feature a real rink, which is covered so can be enjoyed in all weathers, but also the very best local trade, food and craft stalls. It will be the perfect place for Christmas shopping, as well as enjoying tasty festive treats, with the opportunity to meet Santa in his grotto too! Booking in advance for the ice rink/ to meet Santa is strongly advised.

Bideford’s first Food & Drink Festival

Bideford’s First Food and Drink Festival is coming to Bideford Pannier Market. The event is the first of its kind in Bideford and the organisers of the event cannot wait to fill the Market Hall with a wide variety of food and drink offerings.

Bideford Pannier Market is steeped in history and is the perfect venue for such a celebration of all things food and drink. The market is the third and final event in the Welcome Back to Bideford series of events funded by HM Welcome Back Fund and aims to showcase what our local area has to offer and welcome shoppers back now the regulations have eased.
