Tavistock Dickensian Evening is a much-loved Christmas tradition and is hugely important to the local community and it’s businesses, the shops love getting involved with victorian costumes and old steam engines!
The whole town comes alive, clubbing together they pull off a Christmas miracle, with snow, churros venders, fancy dress, stilt walkers, steam rollers, horse and carriage, lantern displays and children’s quoirs, an evening of merryment!
Buckland Abbey’s festive forrest
The Great Barn has been filled with a forest of 200 twinkling Christmas trees, with a winding path in the middle leading to the 30ft Christmas tree, aswell as one thousand willow stars made by visitors and volunteers at Buckland Abbey as a Christmas wish or tribute to somebody special.
Pannier Market & Butchers Hall

Tavistock has had the distinction of being voted Best Market Town in Britain. Tavistock’s thriving Pannier Market can be found in the heart of town, Tavistock Pannier Market is open from 9am until 4.30pm
