ABOUT BLUEBELL FISHING LODGE

Bluebell Fishing Lodge is pet friendly, sleeps up to 4 guests and up to 2 pets. This traditional, Scandinavian style lodge occupies a quiet position at Notter Bridge Holiday Park. It’s the perfect base to explore both Devon and Cornwall.

Inside, Bluebell Fishing Lodge has a master double bedroom, twin bedroom and family bathroom with shower over bath. The main living space is a spacious open-plan lounge-diner in a Scandi-finish, the perfect space to relax and plan the next days outings.

Adjoining the social space is a fully fitted, contemporary kitchen with all the appliances you could wish for; including dishwasher, electric oven and gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, kettle, Nespresso Machine, and toaster. There are also all the usual cooking pots and pans, as well as kitchen utensils.

Enjoy the tranquility of this quaint woodland setting alongside the River Lynher. Bluebell Fishing Lodge is self-catered, perfect for romantic escapes, family holidays or a group of friends.

For the keen fisherman (or fisherwoman!) there’s a choice between fishing the River Lynher, or the private fishing pond onsite. Lots of wildlife to spot too including otters, kingfishers and herons, trout, mullet and moorhen.

Bluebell Fishing Lodge has a front decking, where you can enjoy some perfect summer evenings opening your double patio doors to allow the outdoors in, or relax after a long day exploring, on your outdoor furniture.

Within the grounds is our Woodland Nature Walkway, offering a secluded walk around the boundaries of Notter Bridge Holiday Park. Along the walk is our small fishing and nature pond, with a selection of local fish and ecological conservation efforts, supporting the regions local flora and fauna. At the end of the Park is the slipway onto the River Lynher, perfect for canoes, kayaks, or paddle boards.

Celebrating a birthday or special event? Why not order a bottle of Champagne to the booking, so your holiday begins as soon as you check in!

Our friendly team are on hand and happy to help in any way they can, whether this is offering advice on the many wonderful walks in the area, recommending the best places to eat or visit for a day out.

MORE INFO

With all accommodation boasting complete self-contained facilities including washing machines and dishwashers, the Park itself has a main reception at the entrance with security barrier, aswell as an onsite laundry room with share library with both submitted to regular cleaning routines throughout the week. Just across the road from the park are superb dog walking trails along the riverside. Boat launch slipway and fishing lake. Wifi included.

Nestled in the wooded valley running along the Lynher River, Notter Bridge Holiday Park lies in a sheltered position amidst the natural untamed woodland, diverse blossoming gardens and coniferous canopies, with it’s own small fishing lake and natural wildlife trails, all making up this idyllic and tranquil holiday setting, forgiving the occasional honks from Mayo, our resident Grey Goose.

The park is perfectly situated just off the A38, joining the Devon expressway to Cornwall meaning you have the best of two Counties to discover right on your doorstep. In just 17 minutes you can find yourself on the sandy shore or Downderry, discovering the impressive grounds of Anthony Estate, or exploring the numerous coves negotiating the golden stretches of Whitsand Bay.

The winding River Lynher is home to a large variety of local wildlife from white throated dippers, to river otters, vibrant kingfishers, avocets and wrens to little moorhens that run along it’s banks. The local rod & line fisherman occasionally litter it’s banks with hopes of hooking the migrating sea trout or the odd Atlantic salmon.

If getting away from it all was your intention, this quiet riverside location offers an idyllic base, lacking in both amusements and entertainment venues, there is nothing to detract from taking in the surroundings whilst dining alfresco from your balcony, or taking in the starry night skies from the luxury of your own bubbling hot tub.

If this is your first time visiting the area of your 8th time, there are always exciting new discoveries to be made, explore the wild and unspoilt Bodmin Moorland, the tropical South coast stretching from Rame head to Looe Island or discover the old mining history that litters the Cornish Coastline and riverways around Morwellham Quay.. we’ve listed a few of our personal favourite locations below;

  • Calstock – Quaint river-side village – staggered streets dwarfed by the railway viaduct, picnic areas and local Inns.
