Plymouth Swim

Plymouth Swim, in the sheltered waters of Barn Pool Beach. It’s a stunning location in the heart of Mount Edgcumbe Country Park & just a short ferry ride from Plymouth
We are offering three distances 750m (1 lap) 1500m (2 laps) & 3K (4 laps). nb we are using the same 750m lap for all three distances as a longer course runs the risk of swimmers hitting the strong current that’s further out from the beach.

Getting There
You can drive. Alternatively you can catch the Cremyll Ferry from King William Yard to Mount Edgcumbe. The ferry company are running extra ferries in the morning to get you there.

Kit Requirements
Just a swim suit and goggles. Wet suits will not be required for this swim However for first time open water swimmers they are highly recommended. They will keep you warmer and provide buoyancy that will make swimming easier. Short wetsuits or armless wetsuits are also permitted.

There is plenty of paid for parking within easy reach of event HQ.
By Ferry, We are working with the Plymouth Boat Trips company to provide a short ferry ride to the race site from Plymouth. The trip across the water takes just 8 minutes and an early service from 5.45am will be put on for Competitors, spectators and marshals to get across.
