Blackadon Farm

Richard and Merry GIlbard are the fourth generation of Gillbards living at Blackadon Farm. Before that, the family originated from the Davidstowe area in Cornwall. They pride themselves on producing high quality grain, hay, haylage and straw and maintaining a high standard of welfare for their smallish flock of commercial ewes, alongside looking after the environment. We also run a 50 plot allotment site and have opened their farm up to events such as a vintage rally.

They have a number of wildlife friendly areas on the farm where you can spot deer, a variety of wild birds (including two Canada Geese who visit every year) and a bee colony. This year they have started a miniature orchard with the introduction of 6 fruit trees, with plans to add more over the next couple of years.
