We spent all day here, hiking the Cliff Top trail (approx. 3hrs) with amazing views, and exploring the caves (there are in fact 2).

I’d recommend starting at the top with Gough’s Cave - the audio tour is a must and only takes 45-60mins.

You can then go onto Cox’s Cave - smaller and only 20mins in duration.

If you book online you get your adult ticket for £24.95 which gives you access to both caves and the prehistory museum.

Also worth going up all 274 steps of Jacobs Ladder to the Lookout Tower for panoramic views over the Mendip Hills.

There are a number of small parking lots as you make your way into the Gorge - best to arrive early as spaces fill up.

Plenty facilities available such as public toilets and tearooms to enjoy.

What a day we had in this stunningly beautiful piece of paradise. Serene and picturesque. You have to see it for yourself. It has something for everyone. Families, hikers, climbers, explorers, or just site seeing tourists- this place will satisfy all your needs. Little cosy village in the lap of gorgeous hills. The cool of the spectacular caves contrasted the heat of the day. The food was delicious. The amount of entertainment options was impressive for such a little place. Strongly recommend.

A magical place. Allow enough time for the climb and clifftop walk as well as the caves and museum. It will take up the whole day.

Parking all day £6, the caves are not massive and take about half hour each to walk round, the scenery all around when you go up Jacobs ladder and do the cliff walk is so beautiful. Many other walks around that area to go on as it mostly national trust land with public access, so worth going back for more adventures.
