Fabulous. Highly recommended. First stop at the beginning of our holiday in Exmoor is always a visit to Ethan and Joe at the Esplanade Fish Bar in Lynmouth. Even though we often arrive shortly before closing, and after they have been open for most of the day, there is always a superb piece of freshly cooked fish, a succulent piece of chicken with the burger and plenty of well cooked chips to accompany them. Ethan and Joe are always so welcoming: there is even a gravy bone for Westie Kenzie. Although it is freshly cooked, our order arrives swiftly and there is the beautiful view over the sea whilst we wait. We hardly ever visit a fish bar at home in Hampshire but nearly always include a second visit to the Esplanade Fish Bar before we go home. Well done Ethan and Joe!

Called in on a bitterly cold late December day. Probably the best fish and chips I've had anywhere in the country. Batter was crisp and not greasy, the fish underneath was tasty and full of flavour. Really good chips and good portions. A little wait while our food was cooked fresh. Sat in and ate there instead of retreating to my van. Pleasant inside, happy and friendly staff. Will definitely be calling in again when I'm in the area.

We came off the MS Ostenburg from Lundy Island and needed a hearty meal. We found this place. Thankfully it was empty and no queue, which made ordering easy. We chose the meal deal ( fish, chips, peas & drink ), I had the curry sauce in place of the peas. It's was a good sized portion and fairly priced. No complaints at all although I could've used a whole pint of the curry sauce as it was delicious. Thank you and see you next year 🤞🏻

The staff and chef is really friendly and welcoming during our visit.

We tried few items:- COD is cooked to perfection with light batter, crispy white baits, flavourful prawn fritters and well cooked chips.

Very popular place but the service staff were efficient and amazing!

Keep up the great work guys 👍 ☀️ 🌊

Amazing fish and chips! The staff was very nice and patient to help a whole line of people queuing up, even though it was almost closing time. They also still offered to split the chips over separate boxes. The fish was very crispy on the outside and soft and flaky on the inside. The chips were great as well. We also enjoyed the mushy peas and homemade curry sauce. Good portions for a reasonable price. We definitely recommend!

There was a queue outside when we arrived at 6.15pm but it was efficient and our order number was called when the food was ready.

I ordered Jumbo sausage with chips (£7.50) and the chips were perfect and well Seasoned. What I really liked was that there were no tiny scrappy bits so everything in my box got eaten. Would recommend this place 👌

What a fantastic little chippy. We found ourselves in Lynmouth for the first time on a wet Good Friday and we’re looking for something to eat. Everyone had resigned themselves to chips on a wet bench. When we ordered we noticed some seating at the back of the shop which was dog friendly. It was super clean and comfortable. We had some of the best fish and chips we have ever tasted and hands down the best chip shop curry sauce ever. The staff were just lovely too. What a great little find.
