Local trains ride over the spectacular Tamar Viaduct to Plymouth, a historic seaport offering extensive shopping outlets and eateries. There are also cycling routes along the Tamar Trails and opportunities to visit National Trust heritage sites, such as Morwellham Quay, Cotehele, Lydford Gorge, and the mines at the heart of Poldark country.
The quaint market town of Tavistock (birthplace of Sir Francis Drake) is nearby and easily accessible for visiting Dartmoor National Park (prime deer county where you can walk between the Dartmoor Tors). The local area also boasts an award-winning golf course, St Mellion (a Jack Nicklaus-designed course) just a short drive away, along with its superior leisure facilities, open to all. And you are only a 30 minute drive to the coast, meaning you can truly make the most of what the coast and country has to offer in both Devon and Cornwall.
A short walk in to the village of St Ann’s you will find The Rifle Volunteer serving real ale and good food whilst offering more of those spectacular views!

Martin and I always thought we would like a place here if it turned into a static van site and we were the first to buy here. When the work started we were so excited.
We love the view which changes with the light and the weather. It is so peaceful and quiet here. It is very easy to relax. Claire , Tim and their team work really hard and are very friendly. We love seeing the site developing and more people moving in. We wont be going anywhere else in a hurry.
Twenty years ago, whenever we drove through St Ann’s Chapel we admired the amazing view down the scenic Tamar Valley to the shimmering waters and boats coming and going in Plymouth Sound. We always said if ever we got the opportunity, we would buy a home with that view!
We returned to the area for a visit in 2017, saw Tamar View Holiday Park and purchased one of the first available homes. It continues to meet all our expectations: the rolling clouds scudding along in the valley below; sunshine lighting up the mediaeval fields of corn, the Roscoff ferry making its way into Plymouth harbour, and the flashing light of Edison Lighthouse after dark.
As our son and his wife and baby daughter live in Callington we decided that we needed somewhere close by to them to stay when we came down to visit, in order to spend quality time with them and not intrude upon their space!
The first impression was how lovely and well kept the site was. It was open but carefully planned so none of the holiday homes overlooked one another and importantly to us it was dog friendly. We visited different lodges and caravans and found one in particular that we fell in love with! It had a magnificent view from the lounge area and all the facilities that we were looking for.
