This summer, Plymouth transforms into a vibrant open-air gallery as more than 40 beautifully designed lighthouse sculptures light the way across the city. Discover the Trail
Follow a trail of striking, 2.4m-tall lighthouse sculptures, each uniquely designed by talented artists. From bold and colourful to thoughtful and intricate, every piece tells its own story while guiding you through Plymouth’s streets, waterfront and hidden corners.
Perfect for families, art lovers and explorers alike, the trail is free to enjoy and easy to dip in and out of—whether you’re making a full day of it or discovering a few along the way.
Trail App and Map
The Guiding Lights Trail app is your interactive guide to exploring Plymouth’s vibrant art trail, helping you discover and collect 41 large and 51 small sculptures across the city.
As you explore, you can unlock rewards, track your progress, vote for your favourite designs, and even earn access to over £150 in discounts and prizes. The app also lets you upload photos to a shared gallery, follow trail events, and monitor your steps and miles along the way. Available for £1.99 on the App Store and Google Play, every download supports St Luke’s Hospice Plymouth, making it a fun and meaningful way to experience the trail.
If you prefer something in hand, printed maps are available from the Tourist Information Centre and St Luke’s charity shops.
