What a Calm Day on a Coast & Country Break Looks Like;

One of the best things about taking a break with us in Cornwall is that the days just unfold naturally.

There’s no need to rush off anywhere.

• Slow mornings; Wake up without an alarm blaring in your ear. Step outside and watch the world wake up around you – fresh coffee in hand, of course. Birds in the trees, a gentle breeze and the lovely feeling of having nowhere to be – that’s what mornings are all about.
• Walks along the coast or in the woods; Cornwall’s landscapes are just waiting to be explored at your own pace. Take a stroll along the coast path and enjoy the views out over the sea, follow some woodland trails, or take a gentle stroll through the countryside.
• Lunch in a harbour town; Most of Cornwall’s loveliest harbour towns are just a short drive away. Think fresh seafood, a cozy café and all the charm of a colourfully-painted harbour wall – perfect for a slow lunch together.
• Sunset views or stargazing; As the day winds down, Cornwall’s got some of the most beautiful sunsets in the UK. Watch the sky turn all sorts of lovely colours over the coast, or head back to your lodge and spend an evening gazing up at the clear night sky.

• Just imagine yourself strolling along the coastal path around Rame head, Kingsand and Cawsand – you’ll be stopping in at the Devenport Inn for a pint of local ale in no time.
• A river cruise, or perhaps a spot of canoeing with Canoe River Tamar, will give you a real chance to explore the river’s secret creeks and catch a glimpse of those fabulous kingfishers and otters.
• You can’t miss a visit to a National trust gem like Cotehele or Mount Edgecumbe – and while you’re at Cotehele, wander down to the quay to see the Shamrock – a beautifully restored sailing barge – and treat yourself to a traditional cream tea in the lovely Edgecumbe Tea Rooms.
• If you’re looking for a romantic night to remember, head to the Royal William Yard in Plymouth for some top class dining.
• Get your adrenaline going on the Tamar Trails – where you can hire bikes and have a picnic, or grab your mountain bike and see how our local mining trails are designed for thrill seekers like you. Hire a bike, grab a picnic and get on with enjoying the great outdoors.
• You’ll adore exploring the quaint, classic fishing village of Polperro.
• But if you’re a true thrill-seeker then Adrenaline Quarry is the place for you – the quarry’s zip wires and swings are just the beginning – you can water park, go karting – or if it’s not you that’s the thrill-seeker, throw your partner off a quarry (just kidding) – or if that’s not enough – hit the water fun agility park or the go karting track – have a blast.
• However, if the great outdoors has you feeling a bit drained, you can always try a bit of pampering – like a spa day at China Fleet country club – where you can let your worries melt away – or head down to the driving range and let off some steam with a bucket of balls – and then reward yourself with a lovely afternoon tea at the Brasserie, with a view of the golf course and the Tamar estuary.
