This house has such a lovely homely feel about it. It's still lived in by the family hence why it's only open mainly during the week.

It's run by some very friendly and helpful volunteers who really make for a special visit. There's lot's of rooms to explore.

The gardens are a lovely place to chill. Don't miss the small summer gardens which are tucked away. They offer lovely sea views.

There's a nice cafe selling light lunches and delicious cakes. The hot chocolate is very good also.

A fine house with lots of family portraits dating back to 1553 including three by Sir Joshua Reynolds.

There are extensive lawns with views down to the river.

There is a good Cafe and two sets of toilets nearby (one set is open to the public and doesn't need entry)

Dogs are restricted from the house, Summer garden and main lawn.

It was typical British August weather, overcast and drizzle, but it was all made better by the grand interior of the 18th century Antony house, which is still home to the Carew Pole family. We started our visit with the traditional cream tea, before exploring the grandeur of the house and grounds. The stunning Cork Oak and London Plane trees, and the 235 year old Black Walnut. This was also a filming location in Tim Burtons "Alice in Wonderland." A day well worth ignoring the summer drizzle for.

Stunning house and gardens. It has a big car park, so no waiting around. The staff volunteers are not only knowledgeable about the history of the house, family and gardens, but friendly and approachable. The garden is enormous and ideal for family picnic. They do have a National Trust cafe. Today we couldn't see the bedrooms as not open to the public. Next time.

This is a very lovely place with sweeping views towards the estuarys mouth. The grounds are beautifully kept and lovely gardens. The café was lovely and there were two outside seating areas and inside seats too. The Cornish pasties were fabulous 👌🏻 and the staff brilliant. We had lunch then walked around and went back for tea and cake 😀.

It's not a massive property and I think is still a private residence but it is very beautiful and set in a lovely location 👍🏻. All the staff and volunteers were so helpful and friendly.

Visited quite a few years ago but had wanted to revisit. This house has such a homely and cosy feel, probably because although it is owned by the National Trust, the ancestral family still live here. I was especially interested in the large collection of family portraits. The day we visited, it was heavy rain but fortunately there was a gap between downpours to allow us a walk around the garden and enjoy the Easter themed activities. There is a cafe and obligatory second hand book shop. There is an entry fee but free for National Trust members.
