Beautiful house and large stunning gardens. Staff and volunteers were all really friendly and a wealth of information.

Car park signage is t the greatest and we ended up parking by the river, which resulted in a very steep walk up to the house. Rewarded ourselves with ice cream though! Recommend following the car park signs for the house, but note that it's a narrow gateway.

Due to the time of year, there were wasps all over the cafe, so if you're not a fan, I would stay away. There are warning signs about them, along with advice. We ate inside, and while not a huge issue for us, they do take away some of the leisurelyness of enjoying a cream tea.

The gardens are huge and a delight to walk around. We enjoyed the games in the orchard, too, as well as watching the dragonflies around the pond.

If we'd had more time, we would have liked to explore the woodland and riverside. We'll just have to come back to do that!

We all really enjoyed our visit. The house was excellent with so many fascinating artefacts.

The site has vast grounds to explore and a nice cafe as well for lunch and refreshments.

After finishing up at the main house we drove down and parked by the Quay where we had some delicious ice cream and then walked to the mill.

Highly recommended and we hope to return when next in the area 😊

Lovely estate walks to the quay. The main cafe did very good coffee and food. Dog friendly too. Gardens well worth walking around. Roads in are narrow in places but no big deal. Very dog friendly. Recommended.

Wow what a fantastic place the house you look around is amazing steeped in rich history and the gardens were just beautiful,on way out we stopped in the cafe for a drink and cake. We will definitely be comming back .

A truly delightful house and gardens and possibly the loveliest property we’ve ever visited, NT or otherwise. Medieval-looking as well as Tudor. Stunning views. Fascinating inside, many items original to the house. Informative and friendly volunteers. Wonderful to see the ancient clock working, but sadly couldn’t get as close to it as I would have liked! Good cafeteria, but sliced cheese rather than grated would have been preferred for the savoury scone!
