Beautiful place and great for a family day out! The kids will love climbing the rocks. Scenic view of the surrounding area. Dartmoor ponies, sheep and cows will also be nearby. There’s a carpark just across the rocks and there’s usually an icecream van on wekeends.

It felt more like a gentle walk than a proper hike, but honestly, it was perfect with a toddler.

The scenery was beautiful, and the route was easy and relaxing. Parking was available too, and we paid £3.40 for 3 hours.

We also saw wild horses and cows nearby, which made the walk even more enjoyable. A really lovely place for a family day out.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Stunning panoramic views and great fun to climb!

Haytor Rocks is an absolute must-visit in Dartmoor. The granite tors are incredibly majestic, and climbing to the top rewards you with breathtaking, panoramic views of the surrounding moorland and countryside. It’s a fantastic place for a family walk, with plenty of open space for kids to explore and scrambled safely around the base. It can get a bit windy at the top, but the fresh air and stunning scenery make it completely worth it. A perfect spot for nature lovers!

This is a very spiritual place for me. It's also where I turn into a 50yr old kid, finding new ways to climb to the top. And the views up there are absolutely breathtaking! I strongly advise you to visit this ancient, awe-inspiring place at least once in your life.

The ghost of Sherlock Holmes can be found here. Beautiful in the sun. Although it may be even more beautiful in the snow. I will have to visit in the winter
